Special Interest Groups

The special interest groups within our organization reflect the various interests of our members. Some groups have continued from year to year, while others come and go. With enough support from members, we are open to starting new groups. Typically, there is something of interest for everyone.

Love of music is the catalyst behind this group. Members will have input as to their interests which will be sent to all members in this group to select local concerts to attend. Each member will be respsonsible for getting her own ticket. Meeting after the event for supper or coffee may be scheduled to discuss the concert.

FILM FANS
Film fans attend acclaimed independent, foreign and Hollywood movies at some of the Seacoast’s most engaging theaters. Including among them are the Music Hall in Portsmouth and The Screening Room in Newburyport. After viewing a picture, Film Fans retire to a local restaurant for coffee and lively conversation about the work they have just seen.

FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE

GOLF
All interested golfers, whether duffers or pros (haven’t seen a pro yet) meet at Bramber Valley Golf Course in Greenland on Wednesdays. We tee off at 9 a.m. and request you arrive by 8:30 to form groups. We have also been known to "travel" to different courses in the area on a day other than Wednesdays.

KAYAKING

Typically the cost is $12-17 per taster.  Hosts provide coffee, tea, paper goods and cutlery. The group chair will bring the glasses, score sheets and pencils. If a host prefers not to choose the wines for the evening, the group chair or another volunteer will select them.

WOMEN TALKING
News, health, relationships, books, travel, music.......all this and more is the basis for this discussion group. The meetings will be informal, no pressure, no preparation, just an exchange of ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. Politics and religion are off limits!
